About the role
We're looking for a Financial Analyst II to join our National Finance team!
In this role, you will be responsible for handling month-end tasks, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations, as well as supporting management with analyzing financial data and budgets. As part of our team, you will work alongside experienced staff who can coach you, and you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with diverse finance teams.
What you'll do here:
Perform month end closing activities (accruals, prepaids, allocation of expenses, reconciliations, etc.)
Conduct variance analysis on expenses, comparing actuals with budgets and forecasts to drive insights.
Produce, update and analyze financial reports to support the decision-making processes.
Review financial data and statements to provide insights into operational results.
Manage internal monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting by working closely with various departments, including other finance teams.
Assist in the preparation and analysis of the annual budget.
Maintain cost centres and general ledger accounts.
Assist on ad hoc projects and requests.
What you bring to the table:
Post secondary education in finance or accounting – is required
CPA (or a student in progress working towards a CPA designation) – is required
Minimum 2-years experience within Finance and Accounting – is required
Strong proficiency using Excel – is required
Working knowledge using Word and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of the P&C insurance industry is an asset
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
