What you'll be doing.
Portfolio Strategy & Planning
- Develop and lead the global portfolio strategy, aligned to overall commercial and brand objectives including portfolio architecture, and tiering strategies
- Execute the strategy by identifying and leading the global scaling of winning/power product SKUs
- Identify category and portfolio opportunities based on consumer, market and competitor insight
- Lead the portfolio lifecycle across regions, including the rationalization process, managing timelines, data collection and regional inputs
- Maintain global SKU database and dashboards, tracking key metrics such as SKU count, velocity, profitability, and scalability
- Model portfolio scenarios (SKU cuts, additions, mix shifts) and highlight trade-offs for review
- Prepare fact-based analyses and business cases to support portfolio decision-making
- Manage the end-to-end operational rhythm of portfolio governance
- Ensure all markets and functions adhere to global portfolio guardrails (SKU tiering, complexity thresholds, minimum volume requirements)
- Maintain visibility on sunsetting, consolidation, and reformulation projects; track progress and flag misalignments or delays to the Senior Director
- Prepare decision-support packages with data, insights, and options for governance councils or leadership forums
- Own and update the master portfolio database, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and accessibility for stakeholders
- Surface governance risks or non-compliance, with recommendations for resolution
- Conduct regular reviews of the portfolio to identify SKUs outside agreed governance parameters (e.g., low velocity, duplication, brand misalignment)
- Liaise between regions and global functions to ensure local portfolio decisions align with global standards
- Oversee in-market performance tracking against business cases and KPIs, monitoring innovations' success and understanding implications for our global portfolio
- Support alignment with global supply and regional marketing teams to enable product launches, transitions and discontinuations
- Champion continuous improvement in ways of working - sourcing new methods, tools and techniques (including AI-enabled approaches) to support greater speed, and scalability
- Partner with Supply Chain & procurement to ensure we can successfully scale the portfolio
- Communicate clear rationale for portfolio choices with Global Marketing to build compelling, evidence-based selling stories and business cases that give the organisation confidence to act
- Build relationships with MDs, sales and customer teams to ensure we are customer obsessed
- Work with Finance to analyze commercial performance at SKU-level to maximize commercialization
- Analyze and interpret pricing and promotional performance - looking beyond "actual price" to the "presentation of price" to understand implications for our portfolio's architecture
- Communicate portfolio recommendations clearly and persuasively to business leadership
- Manage, coach and develop direct report(s), supporting them on their plans and initiatives
- Champion learning and development across the team
What you'll need to be successful.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in CPG marketing, portfolio management, category management, or related commercial leadership roles.
- Experience managing multi-brand and/or multi-category portfolios, preferably within Retail, Foodservice, and QSR channels.
- Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen with the ability to balance growth opportunities and profitability objectives.
- Demonstrated success leveraging consumer, category, market, and financial data to influence portfolio and business decisions.
- Advanced analytical and modeling capabilities, including experience with P&L analysis, pricing strategies, ROI evaluation, and scenario planning.
- Proficiency with Excel, Power BI, and AI-enabled business tools.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive alignment across complex, global organizations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex analyses into actionable recommendations.
- Experience managing and developing team members is preferred.
