Boeing Brazil is seeking Mid Career Systems Engineer (ETOPS), reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager, working out of the São José dos Campos office.

The Mid Career Systems Engineer (ETOPS) will apply System Engineering concepts and principles to product development, with special focus to ETOPS (Extended Operations), ensuring Boeing aircraft are designed, built, tested, and supported for extended operations (especially overwater), enabling Boeing customers to fly long range missions in a more direct route to/from suitable airport. ETOPS is heavily regulated and has considerable certification aspects, including focus on safety, airplane maintenance and operational procedures.

                                                                                                                               

Position Responsibilities:

  • Systems Engineering activities to develop Aircraft Systems for several different programs.
  • Perform Requirements Validation and Verification.
  • Testing Experience (Flight Test, Ground Tests, Test Procedures and Analysis, Configuration Control and Conformity).
  • Review safety assessments.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of solution sets for development programs and their derivatives.
  • Work with Boeing engineers and certification specialists across many areas (propulsion, systems, avionics, etc.) to ensure project certification and ultimate submittal to the certification authorities, including the FAA, EASA, and other international validation bodies.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must have existing rights to work in Brazil.
  • Must have a degree in Engineering.
  • Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia - CREA).
  • Proficient in both verbal and written communications skills in the English Language.

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • Experience in Systems development.
  • Experience with ARP-4754 and ARP-4761.
  • Regulatory/Certification Experience (FAA/EASA Interaction, Regulation Compliance, Certification Plan, Issue Papers/CRI, ETOPS)
  • Experience applying Systems Engineering principles and Systems Integration in the Aerospace industry
  • ETOPS Certification or Airplane / Propulsion / Electrical Experience.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Additional Information:

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Brazil.  

Candidates must have current legal authorization to live and work in Brazil.
