Job Description:
Our client is seeking an Operations Manager – Fuel Transport to oversee and coordinate all on-ground fuel transportation activities in and around Lubumbashi, DRC. The role focuses on managing cross-border fuel movements, border clearance, depot offloading, and daily field operations to ensure safe, timely, and compliant delivery of petroleum products.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of fuel trucks (loaded and empty) across DRC routes
- Ensure timely border clearance and resolve customs or documentation delays
- Supervise fuel offloading at depots in line with company SOPs
- Coordinate with drivers, depot teams, clearing agents, and customers
- Prepare daily and weekly operational reports for management
- Liaise with local authorities, customs officials, and depot management
- Handle operational challenges such as breakdowns, delays, and driver issues
- Travel frequently within DRC and work extended hours as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- 3–7 years’ experience in fuel transport or logistics operations
- Proven experience in cross-border transport (DRC experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Congo border procedures and documentation
- Familiarity with fuel depot and offloading operations
- Proficiency in English; Swahili or French is an added advantage
- Strong coordination, leadership, and communication skills
- Willingness to work in the field and beyond regular working hours
