Job SummaryTYLin is seeking a dynamic and experienced Transportation Infrastructure Leader to drive strategic growth, technical excellence, and team leadership in the Greater Toronto Area. This individual will be responsible for expanding our Transportation sector presence across Ontario—particularly in the planning, design, and delivery of major highway and multimodal infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of Ontario’s infrastructure market and is intrinsically connected with key clients, including the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO), Metrolinx, TTC, and Infrastructure Ontario.Responsibilities & QualificationsKey Responsibilities
Lead and manage a high-performing team of transportation engineers, project managers, and support staff focused on delivering large-scale transportation infrastructure projects.
Spearhead the strategic growth of the GTA Transportation business, with a focus on highways, corridors, transit integration, and multimodal planning/design.
Strengthen and expand client relationships with MTO, Metrolinx, TTC, and Infrastructure Ontario—acting as a trusted advisor and primary relationship manager.
Ensure consistent technical excellence and project delivery on a portfolio of complex technical projects.
Lead proposal development, pricing strategies, and pursuit planning for major transportation opportunities across Ontario.
Monitor project performance, ensure quality, manage risks, and deliver results within scope, schedule, and budget.
Mentor, coach, and support staff development to build a resilient and agile team aligned with long-term business objectives.
Business Impact
Establishes key elements of tactical and operational plans with measurable outcomes tied to TYLin’s Transportation business growth in Ontario.
Drives innovation in technical solutions and project execution while managing the technical accuracy and quality of deliverables.
Aligns project staffing and delivery models with evolving client expectations and strategic priorities.

People Leadership
Leads a multi-disciplinary team with a focus on performance, growth, and succession planning.
Manages the recruitment, promotion, performance reviews, and development planning for direct reports.

Technical & Strategic Expertise
Mastery-level knowledge of transportation engineering, with particular expertise in highway design, corridor planning, and infrastructure integration.
Demonstrated track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects in Ontario, with working knowledge of MTO design standards and project delivery models.
Keeps abreast of technical developments and regulatory frameworks affecting transportation infrastructure across the province.
Supports and contributes to internal technical knowledge-sharing and best practices documentation.
Communication & Client Engagement
Communicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, client representatives, joint venture partners, and subconsultants.
Explains policies, project approaches, and technical recommendations clearly and persuasively.
Drives business development efforts and pursuit strategies, including proposal writing, presentations, and negotiation of contracts.
Cultivates long-term relationships with key transportation agencies and clients to expand scope and influence future infrastructure planning.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline is preferred but not essential.
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in transportation engineering and infrastructure project delivery.
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario is strongly preferred.
Deep knowledge of the Ontario market and extensive relationships with MTO, Metrolinx, TTC, and Infrastructure Ontario.
Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex infrastructure projects from planning to delivery.
