This position requires experience in transportation practice growth, broader team development, and a sound understanding of the transportation market and project delivery.
The individual must demonstrate leadership in the pursuit of transportation projects such as rail systems, structures, bus rapid transit, transit corridor (rail and bus), transit facilities.
This individual will collaborate company-wide on strategic transit and transportation pursuits and as needed, support delivery of those projects.
The duties include client development, proposal support, and management of projects and project teams.Responsibilities & Qualifications
What You’ll Do:
Provides a significant contribution to winning projects as Project Manager or key team member. Serve as Lead Project Manager on projects where beneficial to the Company and the project; and assume the financial, staffing, scope and schedule management responsibilities of that role.
Has demonstrated experience and can serve as technical lead in planning and/or design of significant rail related projects.
Directs the preparation, tracking and submission of the project deliverables.
Tracking of additional and out-of-scope work. Communication with clients, negotiation of fees for additional services and delivery of contract modifications for such services.
Responsible for project quality. Assures QA/QC processes are completed on each project.
Lead responsibility for the preparation of the project proposals for rail/transit clients.
Communicate TYLin capabilities, locally and nationally, in delivering rail/transit projects. Cross geographic boundaries as required to support Sector project pursuits and delivery.
Identify potential markets, clients and opportunities. Participate in developing, executing and delivering local business plans for marketing existing and potential clients.
Develop/Maintain relationships with current and potential clients and teaming partners. Serve as Client Manager for certain clients, when requested.
Client contact and communication. Managing Client expectations and assuring client satisfaction related to project. Supervision and coaching of other Project Managers and technical staff as required.
What You’ll Bring:
Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or related field.
Registered P. Eng. preferably with P.E.O.
Must have strong Business Development experience with a proven track record of project management and business relationships in the transit industry, especially in the Greater Toronto area.
The successful candidate will have a history of developing and maintaining effective business relationships with clients and peers.
Professional Association membership and active participant (i.e. Toronto Railway Club, AREMA, Canadian Urban Transit Association, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written and presentation skills are required.
