ABOUT THIS ROLE

Product Manager

Apex Fintech Solutions disrupts the financial services industry, empowering Fintech leaders like Stash, Robinhood, and Betterment. We have a proven track record of success and continuously foster innovation. Our Product Managers are pivotal in this disruption. They guide new products at Apex and deliver exceptional value to our users. They drive our success, merging financial industry research and knowledge with our technical expertise to create leading product strategies.

This Product Manager will work within the Experience team, a group dedicated to providing strategic guidance and support to our clients. You will collaborate with stakeholders throughout Apex and with external customers to identify problems and drive efficiency and operational excellence for our advisors and business.

This position reports to the Advisory Product Lead and works closely with Engineering, relationship management, operations, and UX research and design.

What You'll Do All Day:

  • Define Solutions for Efficiency and Scalability: At Apex, our edge lies in our technology products. As a product manager, you'll identify key problems to solve and develop solutions that empower our customers to thrive.
  • Become an Expert: Dive deep into our products and customers' needs. You'll be able to pursue every avenue to master our product, from learning financial regulations to attending industry conferences. Engaging frequently with subject matter experts (SMEs) within Apex is not just essential; it's a chance for you to grow and develop in your career.   • Collaborate with Engineering Teams: Work closely with engineering to drive projects to completion. Your strong product ownership skills, effective communication abilities, and the know-how to maintain a steady delivery cadence will be crucial. Daily tasks include planning projects, grooming backlogs, and researching emerging requirements with your team. Your contribution to the team is what will make us succeed.
  • Shape Technology Strategy with Business and SMEs: Regularly meet with subject matter experts, key customers, and senior decision-makers to communicate the product vision and ensure its value is clear. Your input will be crucial in shaping our technology strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Define a strategy, vision, and roadmap for your products that will delight our customers.
  • Research and communicate the competitive landscape and emerging market trends in our industry.
  • Generate insights and actionable recommendations through deep analysis and alignment with business goals.
  • Collaborate with customers and senior business leaders to identify opportunities for business improvement.
  • Own your product throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Define, drive, and measure the success of your products.
  • Work in Jira to write initiatives, features, epics, and user stories that communicate the desired functionality to engineering while clearly articulating customer value.
  • Develop effective personal relationships across the firm (may require up to 20% travel).

Desired Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to influence across all levels and foster alignment and a sense of urgency.
  • Proficiency with BI and related tools for data mining and insights (e.g., Excel, SQL).
  • End-to-end SDLC management experience.
  • Experience working as an Agile product owner.
  • Flexibility in working with different agile methodologies.
  • Ability to drive frequent value delivery through Agile methodologies.

Preferred Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a Product or Product-adjacent role, such as Product Owner or business Analyst, where you managed a product's lifecycle, from ideation to launch and beyond.
  • 2+ years of experience with Fintech-related products.
  • Familiarity with security and regulatory protocols related to sensitive investor documents (retention policies, retrieval methods, etc.).
  • Knowledge of RESTful API design best practices.

Work Environment

  • This role is required to work in Austin, TX Office 3 days a week.
