About this opportunity:
Ericsson Radio Product development is responsible for all aspects of Radio development for the next generation of wireless base stations: systemization, design and verification of multi-standard radios to create new capabilities and satisfy customer needs. Candidates can expect a hands-on technical role where each individual is empowered to influence the direction of the product design. If you are selected for this position, you will work as part of the Hardware development team combining efforts to deliver world class cellular products. Work tasks will include some or all of the following (depending on the work assignment).
What you will do:
  • Work with the Radio Analog RF Hardware Design Team in Ottawa on Ericsson's next gen Radio Products
  • Participate in the systemization, design and verification of new radio products
  • Develop and execute radio test cases in Ericsson's leading radio development labs
  • Produce formal documentation, e.g. radio design documentation, test plans and test results
  • Help to maintain and enhance the hardware development lab environment
  • Contribute to the success of the Radio Hardware teams

The skills you bring:
  • Student in a B.Eng./B.Sc. or M.Eng./M.Sc. program in Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 2.7+ GPA on a 4.0 scale or equivalent
  • Actively enrolled in an accredited undergraduate, Master's, or PhD on a full-time basis at a 4-year college or university at the time of the internship
  • Be available to work 40 hours per week during the summer or Co-Op term
  • Taken courses that have focused on communications, DSP, analog components, lab work
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Object-oriented programming skills and relevant experience (Python, C++ an asset)
  • Scripting skills in MATLAB is an asset
  • Proactive, motivated, organized and efficient
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work on own and in a highly collaborative team environment

You might also have:
  • Basic knowledge of wireless communication standards would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of embedded and/or real-time software is an asset
  • Understanding of radio hardware building blocks an asset

The salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
The salary range for this position is
Bachelors $25.50 - $34.50 CAD
Masters $37.00 CAD
