The Ericsson Radio Product Team is responsible for all aspects of development for the next generation of wireless base stations: systemization, design, integration, and verification of multi-standard radios to create new capabilities and satisfy customer needs.
Candidates can expect an onsite and hands-on technical role where you will gain real-world and practical engineering experience in an R&D department.
If you are selected for this position, you will work as part of the Radio Product Integration team, which combines hardware and software designs to validate the functionality and performance of new radio products.

What you will do:
- Work tasks will include some or all of the following (depending on the work assignment)
- Work in a tight collaborative group focused on testing and troubleshooting new hardware/software Radio designs to come up with the parameters that are suitable for the given product and to validate that the overall product can meet its functional and performance requirements
- Prepare lab environment including both hardware and software components
- Connect multiple digital & analog radio frequency (RF) designs into a product prototype
- Be responsible for the functional and performance integration of new products
- Develop calibration and performance optimization procedures
- Define test coverage required for product integration
- Implement test automation and validation methods using scripting in python or MATLAB
- Analyze results, drive product design updates, identify potential system design shortcomings, and report findings
- Perform statistical analysis of measurement data
The skills you bring:
- Student in a B.Sc., B.A.Sc., B.Eng., B.Tech. or their Master equivalent programs specialized in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering or a related field.
- 2.7+ GPA on a 4.0 scale or equivalent
- Actively enrolled in an accredited undergraduate, Master's, on a full-time basis at a 4-year college or university at the time of the internship
- Be available to work 40 hours per week during the summer or Co-Op term
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong team and interpersonal skills
- Strong object-oriented programming skills (Python, C++ an asset)
- Scripting skills in MATLAB are an asset
- RF Engineering skills are an asset
- Energy and drive to thrive in a dynamic product development environment
- Proficient English skills, both written and spoken
- Other useful skills:
- Experience with basic lab equipment including: spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies
- Basic knowledge of wireless communication standards
- Understanding of analog/digital hardware building blocks
