POSITION SUMMARY

Leads overall manufacturing operations for assigned facility. Responsible for machining, fabricating, assembling, processing operations and other ancillary functions required for production. Forecasts, develops, implements and administers plans for efficient facilities, staffing and material utilization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Leads manufacturing operations for assigned facility. Ensure compliance with MillerKnoll policies/practices and standards
  • Participates in the development of corporate manufacturing strategies and develops a plant specific strategy to align.
  • Achieves exceptional levels of customer service and delivery reliability with highly variable demand patterns and product variation.
  • Maintains high standards of quality, follows agreed standards, and introduces improvement initiatives to address problems and ensure high standards are maintained.
  • Achieves a safety culture which ensures high levels of employee engagement, addresses risk and strives towards an accident-free environment.
  • Achieves exceptional levels of employee engagement through regular and open communication, two-way feedback at all levels and an environment where issues can be openly raised and positively received at all levels of leadership.
  • Ensures consistent and high-level employee experience is achieved across the facility.
  • Coaches and mentors team member’s; designs and delegates appropriate workloads; builds development plans to ensure career success; participates in succession planning activities.
  • Delegates authority to key supervision in production, production control, methods, cost accounting, maintenance and related operations.
  • Ensures that objectives are achieved on a timely basis at the lowest cost (within financial resources), while maintaining quality requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, working environment according to 5s principles and department safety guidelines.
  • Maintain and follow the ISO standard operating procedures.
  • Lead the team to focus and contribute to the continuous improvement process.
  • Additional responsibilities as requested by Management to achieve business objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline. Significant equivalent operational experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Masters degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in progressively responsible production management positions/leadership, specifically experience with manufacturing and assembly of highly variable products on relatively short lead-times with significant fluctuations in volumes.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of industry and legislation regulation and requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operational metrics
  • Adaptable, willing to learn quickly within fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks with quick turnaround times, while managing interruptions and changing priorities
  • Working knowledge of computer programs, specifically MS Office Suite, etc.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Advanced decision making and problem-solving skills

  • Must be able to complete work tasks that require strong manual dexterity
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to perform duties while wearing all necessary Personal Protective Equipment as determined by MillerKnoll’s Health and Safety department
  • Must be able to perform in an environment with high levels of exposure to manufacturing noise, dust and heat
  • Ability to work in multi-shift environment including flexible hours and weekends, as required
  • Must have flexibility to work varied hours and overtime to meet production requirements

Compensation range for this role is $190,000.00 - $200,000.00. Relevant salary considerations will include candidate qualifications and experience, other business/organizational needs and market factors. The company offers a full spectrum of benefits including Health, Dental, Health Care Spending Account, Life Insurance, Disability and Other Insurance Plans, Paid Time Off (including Vacation, Sick time, and Parental Leave), Holidays, Retirement, Employee Stock Purchase in addition to other special perks reserved for our associates.
