Position Title: Specialist Engineer
Salary: $152,859 -$174,640 / Year
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 Hours/ Week
Summary of Duties: Provide support in design, implementation, and modification of Total Laboratory Automation Solutions, leveraging extensive experience with Laboratory Automation Software and Middleware, particularly those offered by Inpeco: APTIO, FLEXLABHT, FLEXLABX. Support in communicating complex technical and commercial issues to stakeholders to facilitate effective decision-making. Coordinate with customer IT departments to seamlessly integrate laboratory automation solutions into existing infrastructures. Provide proactive technical support and guidance to maintain product performance and resolve software issues. Develop customized dashboards for real-time data analysis, tailored to meet the customer needs of each laboratory environment to optimize workflow and productivity. Support in diagnosing and investigating customer-reported problems, identify and address root causes. Support the design and process changes for automation systems, incorporating feedback from connected modules and analytical instrument systems to enhance functionality and performance. Work cooperatively in a timeline-focused, matrixed, team environment across multiple Siemens locations to develop comprehensive solutions. Provide technical product support and engage in engineering change control activities to ensure continual improvement of system designs and processes. Support the development and implementation of new products or changes in existing Products, Maintaining a high Standard of Quality and Innovation. Optimization of automated laboratory processes and workflows (Data and Sample Management) to increase workflow efficiency and productivity. Installation and integration of multiple Total Laboratory Automation (TLA) systems and components at global customer sites with high sample volume throughput and complex laboratory workflows. Development of customized dashboard for real-time data analysis tailored to enhance laboratory workflow and productivity. Identify root causes and implementing effective solutions to maintain and improve TLA performance. Remote work permitted. Up to 50% domestic and international.
Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent Systems Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or an acceptable alternate occupation. Alternately will accept a Master’s degree and Two (2) years’ experience. The position requires experience with the following: employing analytical skills in projects such as statistical data interpretation, computer simulations and complex calculations; communicating with various target audiences delivering content ranging from executive summaries to detailed technical explanations; graphically represent large data in simplified form; Medical Laboratory IT Automation and workflow management; Experience with Operating Systems: Linux and/or Windows; experience in Programming Languages: Python and/or Bash Scripting; Experience with Database Management: MySQL; Experience with Data Visualization and Reporting: Experience in Power BI and/or Kibana; and Experience with Lab Automation Software: including APTIO, FLEXLABHT, FLEXLABX.
