This Sr. Product Manager will have responsibility for the successful strategy, launch, training, and execution of new products for Medtronic’s spine interbody portfolio. Specifically, the static interbody portfolio and the overall material strategy for posterior interbody. This candidate will be the marketing subject matter expert for the transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion and posterior lumbar interbody fusion procedure spaces.  A well-qualified candidate will be able to lead customer engagement activities and proactively support field teams in a responsive and meaningful way.

This procedure space is vital to the success of Medtronic Spine representing most of the spinal procedures within the spine business.  This candidate will lead customer teams driving to best in class solutions for patients worldwide.  Operating room visits, video calls and third-party strategies that engage customers and lead to clearly articulated product requirements and market success that will create market share gains for Medtronic Spine.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Formulates and reviews corporate short and long-range plans, goals, and objectives for specific product or product line.

  • Responsive and accessible to customers.

  • An active team member that participates and adds value in broader, cross functional meetings.

  • Conducts competitive product analysis and market research of product consumer behavior and professional audience.

  • Determines the profitability and viability of new products or product enhancements.

  • Develops production and marketing strategies and tactics to ensure effective product placement relative to market opportunity, working closely with product development for a specific product, brand, or product area over its entire life cycle.

  • Works with other functions to finalize product specifications.

  • Provides advertising with core brand equity.

  • Serves as technical adviser, demonstrating products and troubleshooting product issues.

  • Leading teams in labs and voice of customer events.

  • Travel: 25% - 30%

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the Orthopedic space, specifically spine area.

  • Operating room experience.

  • Leading cadaver labs or groups of people in a meaningful way that provides direction and essential feedback for products and markets.

  • Spine clinical experience, preferably in the transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion space

  • Material science understanding and how it interacts with human anatomy.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$132,800.00 - $199,200.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
