About the role

We’re looking for a Controller to join our Finance team and play a key role in scaling Rewind’s financial operations. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you’ll oversee day-to-day accounting and financial processes, ensure timely and accurate reporting, and provide trusted insights to support Rewind’s growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll own the month-end close cycle, lead financial audits, strengthen internal controls, and guide department leaders with data-driven recommendations. As a trusted partner to the executive team, you’ll help shape decisions on investments, efficiency, and cost savings. Most importantly, you’ll be building the financial infrastructure that enables Rewind to scale with confidence.

What you’ll do

Financial reporting & analysis

  • Oversee the monthly close process, delivering accurate and timely P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and KPI reports within a 7-day cycle.

  • Conduct variance analysis, forecasting, and regular updates to operating models.

  • Prepare financial packages for executives, the board, investors, and banks.

Accounting operations & compliance

  • Manage bookkeeping, accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and treasury functions, ensuring all regulatory deadlines are met.

  • Lead the annual audit process and SR&ED claims, coordinating with external consultants.

  • Maintain compliance with tax, banking, and reporting obligations.

  • Manage equity administration in Carta, ensuring accurate cap table maintenance, timely processing of option grants, and full compliance with reporting and regulatory requirements.

  • Manage international subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with local statutory, tax, and reporting requirements

Controls, governance & vendor management

  • Develop and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets.

  • Partner with department leaders on budgets, contract negotiations, and operational issues.

  • Manage relationships with suppliers, auditors, banks, and government agencies.

  • Oversee corporate insurance programs, including ownership of policy renewals (CGL, D&O) and coordination with our external insurance broker.

Advisory & strategic support

  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to inform growth strategies and investment decisions.

  • Build enhanced management reporting (e.g., P&L by dimension, dashboards, metrics dictionary).

  • Act as a trusted advisor across the business, supporting efficiency and cost optimization initiatives.

Team leadership & development

  • Lead and mentor a growing finance team, fostering professional development and alignment with company goals.

  • Encourage accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the team.

What you’ll bring

  • CPA designation (or equivalent) with 7–10 years of experience in financial leadership.

  • Experience in a high-growth SaaS environment with a deep understanding of SaaS metrics and financial best practices.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.

  • Track record of building and leading high-performing finance teams.

  • Strong communication skills to translate complex financials for diverse stakeholders.

  • Hands-on experience with a finance tech stack such as NetSuite, Salesforce, Stripe, QBO, Carta and Tipalti.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience scaling finance operations in a venture-backed company.

  • Exposure to international tax and compliance requirements.

  • Familiarity with financial dashboarding tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI).

  • Passion for automation and leveraging technology to drive efficiency.
