Overview

Location: In-Office (Ottawa Canada)
Reports to: Manager, Brand and Marketing

Rebel.com is looking for a versatile and imaginative Creative Designer to transform big ideas into bold, engaging visual experiences. This role is a perfect match for a designer who thrives at the intersection of brand storytelling, motion design, and digital creativity. Working closely with our Manager of Brand and Marketing, you’ll help bring our brand and products to life through fresh visual concepts, emotionally compelling campaigns, and standout design across every touchpoint.

If you’re passionate about distilling strategy into striking visual stories, and enjoy switching between brainstorming big ideas and refining the tiniest pixels, we’d love to meet you.
We’re looking for portfolios that show strong visual storytelling, creative thinking, and the ability to turn strategy into clear, engaging design. Work should include motion design, campaign assets, and brand-aligned visuals, with bonus points for showing the process behind the final product.
Only those applications submitted with portfolios will be considered.

What You'll DoConcept Development & Visual Storytelling

  • Collaborate with the Brand & Marketing Manager to translate product positioning, campaign goals, and strategic messaging into impactful creative concepts.
  • Contribute to brainstorms and pitch creative ideas that push boundaries while staying aligned with brand goals.
  • Develop brand-forward campaign visuals, ads, social content, and motion graphics that bring our message to life.

Motion & Interactive Design

  • Produce compelling motion assets—short-form videos, animations, reels, and UI interactions—for web, email, and social.
  • Think in movement: help tell product stories and build emotional resonance through motion design.
  • Work with internal teams or external vendors to bring animations and videos to production quality.

Digital Design & Visual Execution

  • Own the design execution of campaign assets across all digital platforms, ensuring consistency and visual excellence.
  • Create clean, high-impact visuals for landing pages, paid media, social campaigns, email templates, and beyond.
  • Partner with content and product teams to enhance the visual presentation of blog posts, case studies, and educational content.

Strategic Thinking & Creative Simplification

  • Distil complex ideas, strategies, and product features into creative visual concepts that are simple, clear, and compelling.
  • Bridge the gap between technical capabilities and emotional storytelling with design that connects.
  • Be a creative partner who can understand business objectives and contribute visually-driven solutions that align with broader marketing goals.

Optional but Awesome: UX/UI Collaboration

  • Collaborate on product-related UI/UX enhancements when needed (landing page wireframes, microinteractions, layouts).
  • Offer design insights that support a frictionless customer journey, even if not leading UX directly.

What You Bring

  • 3–5+ years of experience in graphic design, motion design, or visual storytelling—agency or startup experience is an asset.
  • A portfolio that showcases your range: from static visuals to video, animation, and concept-driven campaigns.
  • Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, After Effects (or similar), with an eye for layout, typography, color, and motion.
  • A creative brain that thinks in ideas—not just execution.
  • The ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate openly with marketing, content, product, and external partners.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity, juggling multiple projects, and balancing short-term tasks with long-term brand-building.

Why This Role Matters

At Rebel.com, our brand is one of our strongest assets—and we’re ready to amplify it with a creative that dares to stand out. This role is crucial in helping us not only look good, but feel right to the customers we serve: entrepreneurs, makers, and businesses that want to be bold themselves. As our Creative Designer, your work will ensure our message isn’t just heard—it’s felt, remembered, and shared.

You’ll be more than a designer. You’ll be a creative translator—turning strategy into story, and story into scroll-stopping visuals that connect with people and drive results.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to shape the future of a proudly Canadian brand in a competitive global industry.
  • Autonomy and ownership to build strategies from the ground up.
  • A collaborative, supportive, and entrepreneurial culture.
  • Competitive salary and benefits.
